Flight Deck Productions, founded in 2008 by Larry Foltran, specializes in producing quality and professional training packages for Microsoft Flight Simulator add-ons. Recognizing the need for an accurate training package covering the MD-80 series of aircraft, Larry set out to produce Learn the Mad Dog. He was not content with simply showing FS pilots how to fly the aircraft, but instead set his sights on teaching as much about the aircraft as possible. Larry set out to research the Mad Dog's every facet, including gaining feedback from actual MD-80 pilots.

Learn the Mad Dog quickly grew beyond the original scope. Larry decided to invite two professionals to join the team; Pete Presnal and Gayle Conroy. Bringing years of broadcasting experience to the table, Pete and Gayle were able to add the perfect touch to the package's narration that propelled it to a new level.

Larry also turned to fellow Flight Sim enthusiast and training producer Chris Palmer (Angle of Attack) for technical advise. Chris provided much needed expertise to the project on many different levels.

After over a year in development, Learn the Mad Dog was released in May of 2008. Coined by some "as close to actual ground school as possible", Learn the Mad Dog excels at providing FS pilots with detailed aircraft information and the procedures needed to truly be as real as it gets.

Wanting to provide as much information as possible about the Mad Dog to the FS community, Larry decided to raise the bar and released the companion Study Guide and Reference Manual for Learn the Mad Dog shortly after. Word spread quickly and popularity surrounding the training package grew. 

Fueled by the success of Learn the Mad Dog, Larry quickly began looking to expand the catalog of training products. As talks began with other FS aircraft developers, Flight Deck Productions was born with future projects already in the research and development phase.

Larry Foltran is also currently sharing his talents and expertise with the Angle of Attack team during development of their MD-11 training package.
